Brussels, Belgium - Currently, a research is running for the infection of a Belgian who may be infected with the H5N1 virus. The person, whose name was not given, returned from Turkey Thursday January 12th, and lived in the area where bird-flu occurred.

Yesterday, he went to the Sint-Pieters hospital in Brussels with fever, one of the symptoms of the bird-flu. Because of the travel to Turkey, they decided to inform the inspector of health of the French Community. There was also decided to send him to the Sint-Pieters hospital in Brussels, like the procedure says. In the hospital, he will be kept under surveillance, and the required specimens were taken. During the afternoon, the first results of the research will be available.

Researches said there's no reason for panic, because this is only a 'suspicious case'. It's not confirmed that he has the bird-flu, and the chance that he has another virus is bigger. At 15:30 Belgian time, more information will be provided at a conference in the Sint-Pieters hospital. The Belgian minister of Health Rudy Demotte, and other important people, will be present.

*Update* At the conference, Rudy Demotte declared the person is not infected with the H5N1 virus. He was a Russian journalist who lives in Brussels, and had made a documentary in Turkey.

Maybe change the title to "Belgian person not infected with H5N1"
